Employers Support Tedford for Stable Staffing

Tedford has been in conversation with many large employers in Cumberland, Sagadahoc, and Lincoln Counties. These companies understand that at any given time some of their employees may be contending with housing insecurity or even homelessness.

A 2023 study by the United Way found that 35% of southern midcoast’s working households have incomes that are insufficient to fund basic necessities. For these neighbors, a financial crisis can begin with an unexpected medical diagnosis, car repair, or family disruption. As they work through that crisis, Tedford’s role may be to provide case management services, heating or rental assistance, and/or emergency shelter, so that while they get back on their feet, they can continue coming to work.

Help from regional employers has been a key part of our campaign. We have received contributions from 11 banks and credit unions totaling $270K, and Midcoast-Parkview Health and LincolnHealth contributed $500K through their Community Health Improvement Fund. Please consider making your commitment to keep our neighbors housed and ensure a healthy, productive work force.
